MADE IT CLEAR

Well we survived the poor movie choice and I discussed with my daughter how I will do a better job with my part next time. We also discussed choices at the movies with behavior and actually watching the movie. The movie place has become an escape for young people to let loose with their new hormones and acquired social flirting. Have we as parents made it clear what is safe and expected when attending a movie? Example: changing movies is subject to approva , never leave the theater, no switching from one movie to the next, have a password so if the situation becomes uncomfortable or dangerous your child can call and use this word so the parent can realize they need to be rescued. I am always willing to take the blame if my child cannot be strong enough. Help your child realize you are concerned for their safety first and teaching the values will follow. Since I am a nurse I always state the fact that mistakes are a given when growing up however some mistakes forever change your life. You never want to burn a bridge that you may need to walk back across. Be there, be available, let your child know that they are so valued that you really do care what movie they watch and what happens after the movie starts. Movies usually last a couple of hours, make it clear, it matters .

Some books I like. They can make a differense in your life.
