Give me conversation not communication

I ate breakfast with my husband this morning. We went to the Waffle House to share coffee, tea, food, and conversation. Bo and myself seldom share the same opinion regarding social or political issues. I like to sit across from him to see his eyes and facial expressions. We banter back and forth or sit quietly and disagree silently. He tells a story as if the last battle to win the war. I tell a story with drama, fluff, and warm fuzzies. He sees life as the final play in the playbook of life football. I see life through sheltered, blonde filters. Communication is required, it is not volunteer work shared freely. Communication is like a job, words shared between two people, benign, factual, focused, goal oriented. Conversation is the sharing of the heart and inturn the soul and the mind. Conversation is the spark shared between eyes in the telling of one's story. Conversation is the spice that seasons life shared with no other. Conversation is the intimate passion one feels because of being known. Conversation is being separate from the words shared but fulfilled by the time spent together. Conversation is knowing one is seen, heard, loved, protected, and committed. Conversation leaves me breathless from the words spoken differently and the time spent the same.
