Twenty more days til Christmas!!!!!
Everything is finally finished. You thought I mean't the presents. No... I mean the final decorations are finished. My husband hung the final strand of lights for me today. The garland is hung. The candles in their holders. The famous stockings hung, waiting for the small treasures to fill them. Our tree is especially pretty this year. I have silver and pale blue ornaments with simple, clear lights. I have never been too much into the heavy tree stuff, no, just simple. I love it when the house is finally finished. That means we can enjoy all the decorations for the rest of the month. One of my most fond things, is to be pulling into the driveway and see the lights of our tree. Oh, and I found the most wonderful, smelling candles at Target this year. They are in a smokey colored, glass container and their smell is great. You know, I enjoy the decorating more than anything. It is such a priviledge and pleasure to have a home, and be warm tonight. It is such a blessing to have family to share all of this with. I am so thankful to be in this season. I have always enjoyed this season, regardless of my circumstances or situation, but this year holds excitement that I cannot fully explain. Holidays are especially stressful for people with addictions or depression. I realize many people would not share my feelings. However, the gift of life, fills our home this year. Our walls echo with family. My husband has wrapped presents. We have food to eat. Heat. Running water. Health. Good jobs. Good friends. I am going to enjoy these next 20 days. I am going to stay up late to sit in the den. Get up earlier to enjoy the lights. I am going to enjoy this more than ever before.
