What my mother gave me.

1. Prayer. She spoke my name every morning during her quiet time.
2. Energy. She could work harder than any person.
3. Faith. She lived for every single moment she could squeeze out of life.
4. Sense of humor. She laughed, even if it caused social embarrassment.
5. Strenght. She had grit that most men don't possess.
6. Head strong. She had her opinion.
7. Shopping at smaller stores. She loved knowing people.
8. Cooking. I can make biscuits from scratch. Whip up a meal. She taught me.
9. Sacrifice. She did without.
10. Love. She called me every morning on my birthday, telling me the events of my birth, just like it was brand new.

Today I am a mother. I have been given the greatest chance of a lifetime....to matter to someone else...to make a difference in someone's life...to love without reason or boundaries...to give our children pieces of life that they can tuck into their hearts and pull out for strength, encouragement and hope.
