We planted two thaja trees in memory of Bill, James and Deaurelle.

Our church is planting a prayer garden. We are fortunate to have 66 acres of land in addition to our facility. Rich, old pasture from a cattle farm years ago. Last Sunday, the announcement was made regarding purchasing trees for the garden and my husband brought two. Sunday's are so fast and busy with me teaching a youth class, I did not have time to get the full details of the tree purchase. Today, my husband informed me we had to be at the church between 6 and 7:30pm to plant our trees. Our "Bill, James, and Deaurelle trees," he said. I was touched he had included my parents. I was touched he remembered his father. As we arrived at the church, our trees were waiting to be be placed according to the design laid out for the garden. A hole had been started but needed to be deeper. As we placed the final touches on the planting, my husband counted down so we would know which trees were ours, number 5 and 6. We enjoyed small talk with dear friends. My husband broke a sweat. We took a couple of pictures. These trees grow rapidly. They are hardy and can grow to be 20 feet tall. Drought resistant. Deer resistant. A deep green color. I like our trees. I love who they represent, because without these three people, we would not be the indiviuals we are today. Save the cut flowers. Plant an evergreen that will grow strong. Bury the roots deep with the memories of people we want to live on in our hearts and in the branches of life.
