Senior picture.

It happened. Yesterday, my son had his senior picture made. Hard to believe. He just turned 17 and he got his final schedule for school. As we met the nice Greg Green photographer in Manchester, Tn. I looked around the room at all the pictures taken of friends we knew. My son put on the tux and sat on the stool, I did not realize how much his face had changed this year. He has become a man. Sitting up straight for the camera I see how tall he is. I find a chair not too far away and I just watch. What a priviledge. I am so proud to say he is my son. Honestly, he hasn't given me a moment of trouble. When he leaves the house I never have that sinking feeling of what he will be doing. I have been able to trust him completely. As the camera snaps away, I see the character in this fellow. No,he isn't perfect. He doesn't like a clean room. His car gets messy. I find his dirty dishes in the playroom. But when it comes to the important stuff, I can count on him. As he spoke with Greg regarding the upcoming football season and we were outside doing the casual shots, I stood alittle taller and smiled. He is my son. I cannot express what a blessing he has been in our home. As we went to the car, he said, "Are you happy mom? I tucked my shirt in for you." He cut those eyes at me and I knew he cared that it mattered to me about the shirt. The best part about the senior picture, he cared, he has always cared. Now that's a nice picture.
