We watched the sky.
Last night was the big night for the sky show. No, not an air show with planes, but the balls of fire shooting across the sky traveling through the atmosphere. We laid down on our deck to watch and wait. With the midnight blue canvas, sprinkled with bright lights, it was beautiful. Our terriers were quite amazed that we were out so late and lying on the ground. We watched the sky display it's magical performance, with occasional oohs and wows. It occurred to me, such is life. There are many opportunities for us each day. Both good and bad. However, if we make a conscious effort. Stay up late. Be still. Watch. Anticipate. Believe. Wait to be amazed. I believe my God will show up and be there. I must keep my eyes on the horizon, looking for the blessings and promises I read about each day in my Bible. Nothing has changed. There were star shows 10,000 years ago with the same midnight sky, maybe just alittle darker with no city lights around. Today I am going to look ahead, not behind. I am going to wait to be amazed. Expecting the good and pushing the bad away. Realizing that life is just a fragile and powerful as the fire dancing across the sky last night and if I let my eyes wander for just a second...I will miss the chance to see it.
