Never give up. Galatians 6:9
Tonight our church had a special service to dedicate our new church building for our youth and children depts. We were to choose a Bible verse and write them on the walls. Sort of like claiming God's promises. I chose Galatians 6:9, "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." This verse has been very important in my life. In the pages of my Bible, beside this verse, I had written cries from my heart, complete despair, fear. Tonight as I wrote my verse on the walls of our new youth department, I felt sweet relief and release as I scribbled the words. I can teach this verse to the young people who will walk through these doors and one day when they are questioning their faith, their hope and their strength...they can read this verse and remember how much it meant to me during my hard times. I have shared from my heart with my students. I have given them honest answers about my life and difficulties I have faced. Tonight the lift stopped working that would carry us up to the top floor, where the youth dept is located, I had to determine to conquer my fear of heights and ladders to go up and write my verse. I was terrified and broke into a cold sweat as I claimed the ladder. I chose to write near a window. I love windows. As my husband finished his verse we started towards the ladder to go back down. I was scared too death, but he agreed to go ahead of me and hold the ladder. I made it. We have made it in so many different ways. The harvest of not giving up.
