Curb shopping.

I told you earlier, my husband has been on a cleaning, clean out spree. Odd pieces of furniture, that no longer work for us, have been carried out to the curb. A couple of small tables, that I bought years ago, was some of the curb items. My husband asked me what I paid for them, I told him. That afternoon, I noticed the curb was clear. All of the items had been picked up by someone. I know we could have had a yard sale. We could have even placed an ad for each piece, but that would mean one must have money to spend. One of our neighbors told me she always looks to see if we have put anything out for pick up. She got our son's toy box for her little boys. I have seen it in her garage. I am thrilled she has this wooden toy box to place her many play toys in. We no longer have a need for a toy box, but someone just down the road did. Sure we could have sold it for 25.00 to a searching yard sale customer, but the real beauty of the toy box wouldn't be the same. I remember when my husband built the box. We did not have the money to buy one from the store, so he took left over lumber from the shop and made the box for our young son's toys. Last night, my husband said,"I wonder who got the tables and stuff I put out?" I have no idea and probably never will, but I am sure they are sitting in a well chosen spot, serving a need for a family that couldn't believe there wasn't a price on it. That is priceless.
