She's going to sing.
Our daughter is auditioning for the high school, American Idol, talent show. It is tommorrow afternoon. She is singing a new Carrie Underwood song. Her voice was given to her. She has sung since she could form words. As a tiny child, she would hum herself to sleep. I think her singing has always been a comfort for her. She will be nervous and she will call me right before she sings, just to hear some words of encouragement. I always tell her to sing just like she does when their isn't an audience or a try-out. Be free and let those wings take flight, along with her voice. Take a deep breath. Close her eyes and listen to the notes she hears within the walls of her heart. When she sings from within, the music plays across her face and warms others. It must be for all the right reasons. Not for anyone but herself and the love of music. Using the gift of her voice.
