Have faith in God.

I love to sing. I have sung through many a trouble and joy in my life. I was doing my exercise of walking a few miles, praying, listening....you get the picture. When suddenly an old familiar hymn popped into my head. "Have Faith in God." I have no idea how many times I have sung this hymn as a child and throughout my life. Our church is sort of contemporary and we don't sing the old hymns too much. I might need to visit this issue with our worship leader....anyway as I walked the familiar comfort of this hymn rang through my heart. Let me just refresh you..."Have faith in God when your pathway is lonely. He sees and knows all the way you have trod. Never alone are the least of his children. Have faith in God. Have faith in God. Have faith in God when your prayers are unanswered. Your earnest plea He will never forget. Wait on the Lord trust His word and be patient. Have faith in God. He'll answer yet. Have faith in God in your pain and your sorrow. His heart is touched with your grief and despair. Cast all your cares and your burdens upon Him. And leave them there, oh leave them there. Have faith in God though all else fail about you. Have faith in God. He provides for His own. He cannot fail though all kingdoms shall perish. He rules He reigns upon His throne. Now, isn't that the most wonderful uplifting message you have ever heard in a song? Someone I know is very hopeless tonight and overwhelmed and it is so easy for us to get caught up in our own problems, but that isn't what God and Jesus call us to do. We are to tell the story. His story. The wonderful story of faith. The promise and purpose of holding on to the one truth....the saving grace of our Father. Write this hymn down. Place it on your mirror. Listen to the melody and learn how to sing it. I have chased many a grim night away with a precious song of praise and hope. Tonight. Have faith. If you don't understand...just ask Jesus to come live in your heart. All else will come. He is the only one who knows exactly where you are and where you've been. He knows the way.
