How's your economy?

Paying your bills on time? What do you spend on groceries? Credit card interest rates are up. Housing prices are falling from the sky, but no one is buying. None of if really matters if your heart is overdrawn. So what do I mean? You most likely know exactly how much is in your checking account. Do you know what is in your child's heart? What is troubling your college student? What classes are the hardest? Do you know how your husband or wife is doing? Have you even taken the time to check on your friend who found out her husband loves someone else? Have you driven out of the way to fill your car up with the cheapest gas, but won't take your family to church? Are you living everyday in fear? Do you know why? Are you more worried a bout the Dow index than your son's drinking problem? You will call your stock broker, but seldom call your wife to say that you love her. Is the castle you have spent so much time building crumbling before your eyes? Do you know what hopes and dreams your kids have? What about your spouse? When was the last time you stopped and actually listened? I know the financial stress of our world is huge right now. I am blond, but not stupid. I know things look terribly serious and desperate, BUT I also know I don't care what the world has to say. I care what my heart tells me. My heart tells me to be more concerned with knowing what I am supposed to do for Jesus today. I am to sacrifice for someone today. I am to love beyond understanding....past what is expected...what is acceptable...what anyone else would do. I am to forgive...more times than not...leave resentment tumbling just like the stocks.....grow compassion daily.....just like a garden. I am to care enough to give more than I have. I am to live fearlessly in the pursuit of real PEACE and JOY. I cannot let the condition of this world determine the condition of my heart...for my heart is too much too valuable of a commodity for the volitile stock market to dictate it's worth. My family is too precious to trade for a better price. My marriage is a commitment I made with God and my husband...it doesn't change with the interest rate. My relationships with people aren't shallow and fake...like the lenders of money. I am accountable to Jesus for how I spend my life and the DOW JONES MARKET doesn't have any advice about that stock....it is a gift. FREE.
