Where are your investments being deposited?
Barbara Bush was quoted as saying, "At the end of your life, you will never regret not having passed one more test, not winning one more verdict, or not closing one more deal. You will regret time not spent with a husband, a friend, a child, or parent." It is so difficult to cherish our human relationships and connections. Our time is taken over with careers, social activities, agendas, and personal goals. A life without sincere relationships limits what we do as individuals. We may succeed in society's eyes, but the true meaning to success cannot be measured by a paycheck. It is measured by taking time to make someone feel special. Making effort to meet one's needs without concern for anything in return. Today's economy has taken people's investments down to the lowest point ever, causing concern and stress. We do not have control on the Dow market, but we do choose each day to matter to someone or not. What's in your heart right now? Do the people who know you the best wonder how you feel about them? Do your children hold unto your leg while you cook supper, start another load of laundry, organize your closet? When was the last time your teenager had a conversation with you without an interruption? Where is your relationship with your husband or wife going? Make time for those who add meaning to your life. Make time. Don't wait. Do it now. Decide what is really important to you because doing nothing is actually a withdrawal from an account that will change people's life.
