Mornings, talks, breakfast, biscuits or gravy
When I work I have to clock in by 7:00 am. This makes for fast, wild mornings, trying to get everything done. I must make choices if I am running late, about what I can leave undone and what has to be done. I must have my two cups of coffee without fail. I must take a shower, brush my teeth and put on my clothes. I can grab a bite to eat later. Do I have a breakfast or soul food? I can deal with an empty stomach by myself but an empty soul isn't so easy. I can take the time to wake my children, check in on their morning, or wait until I rush out the door. I can spend a few minutes with my husband as I enjoy my coffee or I can let him sleep. I can rush out the door with no words spoken to anyone or a few moments can be shared to start the day. I want everything. I want scrambled eggs, grits, hashbrowns, biscuits and gravy. Thank you and I'll take strawberry perserves with that biscuit. Peet's Coffee & Tea. Deep-roasted, delivered fresh, since 1966.
