50 Ways To Improve Your Life in 2006
Our magazine, U.S.News and World Report arrived today. As I gathered the mail my curiosity was sparked with the title, 50 Ways To Improve Your Life In 2006. I sat down to read. Omega-3, whole wheat flour, charity work, pay your bills on line, don't lie, don't be prejudice, eat chocolate, just to mention a few of the ways to improve. When I finished reading I sort of felt empty. The article wasn't as fulfilling as I had expected. No big whammies. No big details of information that rocked my world. I did not make a list. I just felt cheated. Now, don't get me wrong, I love to learn of new ways to improve my life, it is just that the simpleness insulted me. Being a mother of two I am constantly fighting the war fare of a world gone crazy. Trying to teach values, morals, determination, desire, leadership, honesty, compassion, love, forgiveness, stamina, hope, faith, transparency, problem solving, resourcefulness, and being who God created my children to be, is more than a day's work. I want my children to make informed decisions. I want to teach them to think so clearly on the easy stuff that the difficult choices will be pondered upon intently with their character and courage. The article did offer insight for better choices; however, I have already been eating my chocolate, I love massages, I know what my credit report says, I don't have the desire to take Chinese, I do love all people and believe we are created equal, I love to say warm at night, sit in the sun and take walks in the cold air. Miriam's number 51, be sure I am loving the people I live with so they can be free to find their own 50 ways.
