The funky purse is ready for high school .

My daughter and me went shopping last Saturday and met my sister . She doesn't live too far away and we get away for quick , last minute sprees . My husband's grandmother had a thing for high heeled shoes and spunky purses . My sister loves purses as well . So...... I blame my daughter's flame being drawn to the purse isle on them . I have one purse . I bought it a year ago . A good standard Coach in black . My sister always eyes it as if to say , wonder when you're going to get a new purse . Well , we were mainly just enjoying girl time and of course the purse isle at TJ Maxx . Within minutes , my daughter had spotted two "unusual purses" and was trying them on her shoulder in front of the mirror . My sister , in her graciousness offered to buy one of them for my daughter . I don't know much about the purse , only it is Italian , great leather and a wild color . To my daughter's delight , she left the store with it in hand . We went to eat lunch and talk and laugh and just enjoy each others company . As we headed to our cars to say goodbye my sister mentioned the vogue purse purchase . My daughter smiled and offered to give Sissy the purse instead . Of course my sister refused . She wanted her niece to have the purse . While we were driving home , we talked about the day and the fun we had . My daughter wanted me to stop the car and get "the purse" out of the trunk so she could look at it . As she rubbed the leather and described why this was the perfect "back to to school purse" , it occurred to me . It was great being with my sister , it was great doing the shopping thing , it was even greater that my sister saw a piece of herself in my daughter . The piece was a purse . The treasure was when I called my sister to say we were home and she said , "I'm on my way to another TJ Maxx , I just love that purse I got her and I've got to have one." My daughter smiled as I hung up the phone , and said , " She's looking for another purse , isn't she mom ?"
