Where are you on Sunday morning?

I am dressed and ready. My son is deciding on what to eat for breakfast. My daughter is still dressing. My husband is showering. It is Sunday morning. Just another day. The seventh day or the first day of the week. Whichever you choose. For me it is the day to go to church. Now before you stop reading, hear me out. Some of you are already saying you would not be caught dead in church again. Some are saying there are nothing but hypocrites there. Some of you are saying you don't have to go to church to be a good person. Some are saying you want to sleep late on Sunday. Everything is true. Everything is exactly your freedom to beleive. Why is church important to me? Comfort. Tradition. Practice. Information. Music. Real stories. Real people. History. Of course, if I am attending church, we know it isn't perfect. No one is perfect, but during some of my darkest hours in life, I have known the people I can count on. They are the ones I see every Sunday morning. Either in the seat in front of me, beside me or behind me. Their concern is genuine. Their love for my family is real. Their efforts to help me are without expectations. I know I can call them. I can talk to them. I can be me with them. So.....even if you don't believe in God or a higher being. Beleive in true friendship. True support. True people who are trying to make it each day just like us. With the world offering so much contempt, disdain, anger, hate, lies, violence and hurt, what could it HURT to just visit church one Sunday morning. Visit several. Visit different types. Just visit. I promise, if you go, you WILL find something you can use, you can relate with, you can feel apart of. You'll never know until you try. Do it. There is a seat just for you, somewhere, on this day of the week.
