An eight dollar haircut with an investment for life .

A miracle happened yesterday . My son and husband went to get haircuts after lunch . Not a big deal , you are most likely thinking . I have been taking our son for haircuts since the beginning . Now that he drives the haircut thing hasn't happened as often as necessary . Yesterday his sideburns looked rough and the back of his neck needed trimming . My husband suggested they go get a cut . Of course our son was not in agreement , he had other plans , but he took his dad . Somewhere down the road the resistance about a haircut lessened . They both returned home with fresh cuts . Nice short , masculine crew cuts . My son had this big smile on his face , he knew I would love his hair . I looked at my husband and he just winked at me . Amazingly , the walk-in hair appointment went just fine . Everyone left the store happy . I realize more was lost yesterday than hair . More things were evened up and thinned out . My son spent time with his dad doing an ordinary thing , but something extraordinary happened . A son and a father talked . While watching his dad get a cut , our son decided it looked pretty good . He sat in the chair next . My husband asked me if tipping 4 dollars was enough . My son said he always has liked his hair short . Funny , I can remember him saying he won't cut his hair again for six months . Isn't it amazing how much alittle love , time and involvement can change a person's perspective....even about a haircut .
