Pilates, soreness, South Beach diet, whatever it takes.
I bought a Pilates DVD last week. My daughter wants to stay in shape and it looked interesting. I was thinking this would be something she can do on her own. Well, we, yes I said we, have gone through it twice now. As I write this entry I can barely lift my arms and my abs are so sore it isn't funny. It isn't an up and running type of work-out, it is contained, controlled use of the muscles, which obviously works based on how sore I am. Also, we have been eating healthier. I purchased the South Beach Diet book and am using it as a guide for shopping and cooking. When we were doing the work-out last night, my son, her brother came through just long enough to twirl and shake his hips, making fun of us. My daughter never loses her focus, she is really into this exercise. She wants to do it right. As I am struggling to do one more ab strenthening stretch, I see the determination in her face. I try to keep going. After we are warming down, my body feels good. My muscles are shaking from the new efforts demanded on them and I just spent 45 minutes with my daughter. There are more types of work-out programs in this Pilates section. I think I will get us another one, this time on Abs, legs and arms. Hopefully, I will still be able to type.
