Goooooo Wildcats!!!!! Tailgate party 2006. t's a Friday night lights.
We have a Wildcat cheerleader and football player in the house this year. Today is the 10th annual Wildcat Tailgate party to kick off the football season for 2006. I started taking our children to this event 10 years ago. They were 6 and 4. I remember rushing from work to pick them up and getting in line to get a t-shirt for the football players and cheerleaders to sign. As the time rolled around each year, my children looked forward to this event and the accumulation of t-shirts grew until today. There are 9 t-shirts and today I received my 10th. As my son was getting ready to go eat breakfast with his team, I felt that excitement creep up into my throat. With his jersey on and very few words to say, he pulled out of the driveway. My daughter will paint childrens faces, THS, pawprints, or Wildcats, my son will sign his name on t-shirts of sweet little children. Today I won't be rushing to stand in line for the t-shirt. I won't be rushing to sign my daughter out of the middle school to beat the rush. I will drive over to the park with my husband and look for our children who will be busy into the fun stuff. I will remember holding their hands in line, they had no idea what or why we were getting a t-shirt for people to sign. I will be thankful to be here one more year. I will remember my daughter getting her face painted and now she paints faces. I am going to stand in the background and take a few pictures, take a few hugs, and be so proud to be number 22's mom and a cheerleader mom. It will be great, it will be special, it will be another memory that I cannot replace or miss. Goooooooo CATS!!!!!!!!!
