It's Tiffany time at the Majors'
I think it has been about 12 years, since our family discovered the wonder of Tiffany's pumpkin patch. I have always loved traditions and one of ours is going out to pick and claim a pumpkin for each one of us. It is fun. It is funny. It is part of welcoming the fall air with crisp, blue October skies into our home. This past Sunday we made the annual trip. Each person looks and chooses their particular pumpkin. From the curly stem, to the various shapes and colors of orange, it takes a little while for each member to find their exact pick. I like the Cinderella pumpkin, sort of flat with definite lines and always just a little different color of orange. Did you even know there were Cinderella pumkins? This Sunday was beautiful. The air was fresh, the sky so brillant and the freshness of coming back to such a familiar place was simply wonderful. As each pumpkin was carefully chosen and paid for, we carried them home. They sit on our porch. Everyone knows exactly which one is theirs and on Halloween night each person must design their carving before the sun sets. We like friendly faces to shine through the candle light. It is a tradition. It is as definite as the leaves changing their colors. It is available to any family who chooses to make the drive down the old Winchester Hwy and then start making a trip down memory lane for years to come. You won't forget it.
