Pansies are a form of romance.

I have always loved pansies, the flower. I can't really even tell you why except that they are hardy and enjoy the cooler temperatures, which seem to make their blooms even larger and stronger. I have always planted them, just a few, in pots and random spots in our landscaping, but this year, my husband went with me to Lowe's and we came out with several trays of my favorite plant. We decided on white and purple pansies. As we arrived home and started discussing the various options for planting, it occurred to me how much more enjoyable this was than when I am by myself. As my husband broke up the soil, making it nice and soft, I was able to plant with very little effort. It has taken us three days to finish our planting project. We cleaned out the side garden and made it look cared for as well. This morning, I opened the blinds to see our work. Because of the cooler temperatures , last night, the pansies were standing tall and strong in the brisk morning sun. I have never planted this many flowers, before. I have never had as much fun, before. The flowerbeds have never looked this good, before. I love a big, warm meal, with plenty of bread, a huge steak and whatever else along the side. I love candlelight and fireplaces with a glow. I love all that romance and stuff, but I found out this week that romance can start with a tray of flowers and bloom beyond the garden they are planted in. Go plant.
