Steak and Shake, fries, could you add alittle salt?

We traveled to Whites Creek, last night, after me objecting loudly and longly, (hope that is a word). I was shocked to think our family was so determined to make the road trip last night. I had already marked it off. But, to my daughter's dismay, she was insulted we were not going to continue our routine of following the team. Realizing I had definitely lost the battle, I resolved we would be going and began gathering up the warm stuff as the temperatures would be dropping. Many times I am a fearful person. Don't ask me why because I really don't know. I felt such anxiety as we drove down the road to Nashville. I began questioning myself. Should we turn around and go back? Was this crazy? Of course, my family quickly agreed I was the crazy one. I am always too worried and too concerned, so down the road we continued. As we sat bundled up on the bleachers with our blankets and watched the game, I finally felt glad we had come. My daughter and I laughed and talked about her playing powderpuff football next week for homecoming. We ate a chili pie. My husband and son discussed the game. Friends came over to wish us well and encourage our son. With three minutes left in the game our son started down unto the field. He wanted to stand with his team in the final seconds before defeat. I saw the pull of his fire down to the warmth of being part of this team. On the way home, we stopped at Steak and Shake, a family favorite. We love their fries and burgers. Especially their fries. My husband yells for more salt. My daughter explains how salt is bad for your arteries. She fusses at him grabbing a handful of fries and explains how to eat slowly to make them last. We laugh at me always ordering something the wrong way. Our fingers are finally warm. Our toes are coming back. I am glad we did not turn around and go back home. I am glad I did not let fear rule my heart. I am glad we have made so many road trips that we know our favorite fries place, even if someone always adds too much salt, the flavor is still enjoyable.
