Just give me a trip to the grocery store.

One of the pleasures I have enjoyed since being off work is...taking off to the grocery store, even if it is past my normal bedtime. I have been able to stay up past nine o'clock, since I don't rise with the crack of dawn. Tonight, it was Ruffles and french onion dip. Oh, and dark chocolate raisins. Lucky for me, my daughter is always willing and ready to go with me. I have heard mothers talk about hating to go to the store and I am sure I have said this as well, but now I don't mind. Maybe it is the slower pace I have now. Maybe it is the simple pleasure of being able to go. My daughter and myself always have a good time at the grocery. It is never a chore but more of an adventure. Tonight, I told her, when she is older and out on her own, we will have to call each other when we go to the grocery just to remember the many trips we took together. She replies with "think how much money you will save mom when we aren't eating all the food." More money or more trips to the grocery? I'll take the trips anytime, even at 10pm, on a whim for Ruffles and french onion dip, but especially for the dark chocolate raisins. A girl needs her chocolate.
