She will have better teeth than me.

I did not know about getting your teeth cleaned until I was out on my own, working for my own benefits. As a result, going to the dentist for me has always mean't repair work, not preventative. As we started having our children, I was determined they would not have the same experience regarding dentist, as I had. So, I started taking them when they were around a year old. Call me silly? I am a firm believer in learning from one's childhood. I don't blame my parents. I know they did the best they could with their money situation, but I want our children to go twice a year for cleanings and check-ups. On my daughter's last check-up it was decided the deep grooves in her molars could cause her trouble later on and it was suggested these be deeply cleaned out and then filler be placed here to prevent decay from starting later on. We go today to get this taken care of. I can't change the way her teeth were formed, but I can help her take care of her teeth. As I think about my teeth and the number of crowns I already have, it becomes my motivation to do things differently for our children, hopefully helping them have better dental habits. As I look at the recent photo of our family, I am proud of their straight, well cared for teeth and I pray for their words that are formed each day. May their words be seasoned with love, widsom, kindness, truth, integrity and God's conversation because no matter how much money and time is spent making healthy teeth, it is more important to speak correctly.
