My advice for starting school.

1. Get up early enough to enjoy your first cup of coffee.
2. Spend the first minutes of your day being grateful, thankful, aware.
3. Pray specifically for your children.
4. Trust God enough to give everything to him, teachers, classes, homework, problems, whatever.
5. Ask for wisdom beyond belief.
6. Commit to being positive, reconizing good but confident enough to speak out against bad stuff.
7. Keep your kitchen clean and organized. A good supply of healthy morning foods.
8. Tell your child two reasons, each day, that they are going to have a good day.
9. Always try to give physical touch, like a hug, a kiss, a pat, before leaving them or them leaving you.
10. Say I love you. Mean it. Look at them. Pause. Make it intentional. It matters more than school.
Happy school year 2007-2008.
Blessings.
