My eyes look alittle like dad's, mom.
We went to view my daughter's cheerleading pictures taken a couple of weeks ago. With girls, there is always anticipation regarding how well they turn out. Our daughter decided to leave her hair down straight, and wear little make-up for a more natural look. As we waited at the counter, the nice lady at Couch's, said, "Oh, your pictures are great. I've seen them." That is for my daughter to decide. As she flipped through the pictures I could tell. She was happy with them. One of the pictures was taken between two trees, with just her face and shoulders showing. She had told me about this one, but I just couldn't picture the look. I could tell she really liked this one and I agreed with her. As we chose our order and picked out frames and matting, I was thrilled she was happy with her pictures. We purchased the proofs and left the store. As we sat in the car, she pulled the tree picture out again. I told her how much I liked it and how pretty her hair looked from the sun-kissed streaks. She said, "mom, don't you think my eyes look alittle like dad's in this picture?" I looked her and remarked, "yes." She has always liked her daddy's eye color and I vividly remember an argument at the supper table, one night, about what color eyes she had. She so wanted them to be the color of her dad's. Well, today, they do look like her daddy's. I can see the joy in her face as she looks closer. "The tree bark brings out the blue-green color mom and they really do look like dad's." We purchased pictures from all of her proofs, they were all really good. However, I have a feeling, the 8x10 of her face between the tree trunks is going to be her favorite. With her dark eyebrows surrounding her eyes, she really does look like her daddy. And no matter what color her eyes really are, she sees a piece of her dad in herself. "These are the best pictures, yet, mom!" I smile and agree with her. The best for many reasons.
