What are you facing today?

Our family has had a relaxing day. We were fortunate enough to spend the day at home. We enjoyed grilled chicken , twiced baked potatoes , salad and wonderful rolls for dinner. Maybe your home wasn't exactly peaceful today. Maybe holidays are simply an excuse to drink and party. Maybe someone you love is battling a serious disease. Maybe your teenager is using drugs. Maybe you found out your teenager is having sex. Maybe your marriage is falling apart. Maybe the thoughts of spending a day with your family is overwhelming. Whatever you are facing in your life , there is a God who created you , loves you and wants the best for you. Now , I know from personal experience , sometimes this is hard to believe. You wonder why me? You wonder how could all this stuff be happening to me? Our God allows choices , in fact , freedom of choice. Many of our happenings are a result of our choices but even still we are offered hope and redemption through His mercy and love. I always have told my children , no matter what happens , what people say , what people do , what injustice may be done to them , they have the power of Jesus Christ in their lives and He does not fail them. There is nothing you can hide from God. There is nothing you can say or do to change how God feels about you. He loves you. Tonight you may be facing an abusive spouse who has had too much to drink today , find a place to get away and read the book of Psalms and let the love of God heal your hurts. Sometimes in the darkest hours we face , there is the brightest of light in our hearts when we simply let go. I learned that my faith became it's strongest when I had nothing else left to count on. Whatever you are facing today may not change tommorrow or ever , but know you are worthy to be respected , treated with kindness , loved , cared for , cherished and maybe the people in your life have failed you , but you do not have to face any of this alone. Ask , He is waiting for you to choose Him.
