We had victory at our house.

We were soundly beaten last night in the first round playoffs. It wasn't even pretty. In fact it was sloppy, (not the players fault) but for us, our senior player, it was a win. Our son came back from tearing his ACL his junior year. Some of his coaches discounted him at times, but he believed in himself and made it. Our daughter loves her big brother so much, she was the one crying after the game. They are close. That's a win-win situation. We had family who sacrificed time, effort and comfort to drive to the final game, just to tell our kids how much they love them and how proud they are of them. Some players had no one. When the coach asked if any seniors wanted to say anything, our son said, "it's been fun." Three short words for such a difficult, gut wrenching, sport. But, that was enough for me. If, after everything we have been through, both on the field and off, our son can say it's been fun, our children really care for each other, and their dad is wanting his picture made with them....we have won...and nothing can change that score for this family. Thank you, Jesus, for the blessing of our son being healthy enough to compete and a daughter who is just a sophomore.
