Are you a Ruth?
Faithfulness. Today you can be extraordinary. How, you may ask? There is a story in the Bible regarding a wonderfully, simple woman, who chose to be faithful. Ruth chose to be a dear friend to Naomi and be devoted to God. Faithfulness is a difficult word in our society today, with over 50% of marriages failing everyday, faithful is fading. Why? I always tell our children, "no matter what other people choose to do with their lives, it doesn't change their responsibility to be faithful in their commitment to Jesus. Ruth followed God and in her simple faith, God took care of her needs way beyond her expectations. I completely believe this. When I read the story of Ruth, my heart overflows with the love story that evolves. She was picking up grain for she and Naomi and God provided Boaz, a wealthy, prominent man who saw her hard work and wanted to do more for her. Maybe you are having a hard day today. Your spouse is mean, hateful or simply uninvolved with your life. Maybe you are lonely, you think no one cares for you. Maybe you are very ill, depressed or hopeless. I am here to share the good news of Ruth, found in the book of Ruth, in the Bible. Find a Bible, read this story, let go and give God every little thing on your heart and mind. He cares so much for you that he wants you to know about Ruth and her story. She chose to be faithful in a humble, simple way, but God blessed her way beyond. Regardless of what may be happening in your world today....we are called to remain faithful. Read about Ruth and throughout the day, you can remember a woman with such a short, simple name who made such a difference and had a huge impact on people who witnessed her faith. So today, have some Ruth, have faith. "Your people shall be my people, and your God my God." Ruth 1:16
