That perfect gift.

My husband and I wrapped presents last night. We went shopping at my favorite mall, Green Hills, on Monday, and so we had a few things to put under the tree. I love wrapping presents. I remember as a small child, wrapping the presents for our family. Our children cannot decide what exactly they want for the Christmas this year. Our son is pondering over amplifiers and such, while our daughter is considering an Ipod. I don't like to just buy stuff to have it under the tree, I like it to be something the person wants, needs, not what I want the person to have. I think the real purpose of a gift is to show your love and consideration for the person you are buying for. Like, I remember one year, I bought my sister-in-law a candle that was the same fragrance as her spray. She felt appreciated because I had taken the time to know something about her as I looked for her a gift. Yesterday, my daughter told me not to buy her any random stuff, she doesn't want extra, she just wants what she has asked for. This Christmas, stop trying to give Jesus extra stuff, He just wants you. He doesn't care about what you have done or how big a mess your life is in, but He does want you to wrap it all up and place your life in His hands. Don't try to fool Him with other stuff. He knows everything anyway, so go ahead and give Him what He has asked for....the gift of surrendering to His will and plan for your life. If you don't, you are going to keep on looking for that perfect gift, and there is no substitute for the right one.
