The hem of his garment.

She had battled this disease for many years, 12, to be exact. She had heard of the one entering her town. The one who would walk down her street. She hadn't much physical strength left. This disease had left her weakened, worn, and tattered. It would be hard. It would take all she had to fight the crowd on the simple dirt road. A glimpse. A brush of wind. It was hard to keep from falling. She had fallen all her life. Too frail to push. With everything she had left to spare she walked. With everything she had left to hope for....she kept her eyes fixed on the one. The one she had heard of. The one she knew deep down in a place of her heart that simply could not be explained. So she struggled among the crowd. She felt the swirl of dizziness overtaking her stamina....but she kept her forward motion. Her fingers stretched beyond their reach. Her arm aching from the heaviness of holding out. Not even enough to grip between her fingers, she brushed the edge of his garment. A hush filled the impatient street. The one whose eyes saw each pain. Stopped. He paused. Who? Where? The fallen cast to the side. His eyes searched to find the soul longing for help. Woman!!! She bowed her head in fear. The brief touch of his hem....could this cause her harm? As she lifted her head to answer the one asking...she heard...her faith had healed her. Her faith!!! In the rush of the shoving crowd this woman dared to reach beyond her existing will and wanted nothing more than a mere brush of fabric across her fingertips. The faint touch that forever changed her life. "Woman because of your faith you are healed." Tonight as someone out there is battling for help, hope, redemption, forgiveness, peace, assurance.....whatever...hold your hand out with your heart open and ask Jesus to let your fingertips brush the hem of grace. Forever changed. Forever.
