He dug the holes.

Our son is home for a few days after a spring break trip to Destin. I enjoy planting flowers and doing the gardening stuff so I asked him if he would help me today. We made a stop at Sonic for a vanilla milkshake for him and then we headed to Lowe's home and garden center. Our conversation was simple and easy. No big words, questions or responses. Just general small talk. The tall fellow with his famous white hat and sunglasses draped around his neck isn't as lean as he used to be as the weight room at UT has proved to be a valuable asset. We park and walk slowly around the flowers. I want pansies to plant and we look at the choices. I ask what color he likes and we pick two trays out and check out. Once at home he retrieves the digging hoe from the garage and I start deciding where I want to plant the pansies. He stands, waiting, patiently, quietly, leaning on the hoe until I have made up my mind. To my amazement, when I tell him where I want to plant them he doesn't question me or tell me how to do it his way. He simply dug each hole. Even when I remarked that the holes might not be deep enough he went back and redug until the desired depth was reached. Not one complaint or question. How refreshing!!!! I can learn alot from this guy. Alot of men could learn alot from Bill. He is even tempered. Level headed. Has alot of good common sense and most of all he dug the holes for the pansies when I asked him to....nothing more, nothing less.
