Such a beautiful night.
I was taking a stroll in the evening air. A slight hint of spring still falling causing the breeze to feel cool. The sky such a midnight blue. Bright, white stars blinking. I took a deep breath in. Feeling so alive and blessed to be in this place. I can see, hear, feel and walk. My sweet terriers, Bruno and Lizzie seemed to agree with their bobtails swinging. Everything seems so peaceful, so fresh and new. The abundant rain has made the grass green and the flowers bloom. In the distance I hear the frogs starting to come alive in the pond behind our house. Their deep croaking seeming to echo a lullaby for the evening hours. The moon is starting to illuminate the yards, showing it's amazing power to the night creatures. I have always enjoyed the evening hours. As a young child I remember falling to sleep in the swing, listening to my parents talk about their day. Sometimes we let life get so busy, so structured and detailed that we miss the miracles on display each night. We miss the chance to fall asleep with the crickets singing. We cause the frogs to hush with our hurried pace. We miss the sunset to be shared with someone to love. We drive past the dew splashed grass in our cars. We watch our TV when the real show is calling outside. I love these spring dancing to summer nights. I simply don't want to miss a single show that will be playing once that sun sets across the way. and thank goodness I did not miss it tonight!!!!
