I love my Dyson vacuum cleaner and I am glad I listened to my daughter

My Electrolux vacuum cleaner of 18 years finally died. While looking and searching for it's replacement my daughter became increasingly persistent upon my purchasing a Dyson cleaner. I just blew her off. What could she possibly know about vacuum cleaners. She continued with her salespitch. Strongest suction. Easy to use. Compact. Simple to store. Soooo. I decided to just go look at this great invention. Her persistence had sparked my curiosity. There were several different types to choose from. The nice attendant at Lowe's retrieved each one for me to view. As I looked them over I became impressed. One even could reach up to 10 feet to dust ceilings or stairs. As I stood there considering the purchase, it became obvious to me that my daughter did know what she was talking about. It cost 400.00, however that was what we paid for the Electrolux 18 years ago and to purchase one again was 1000.00. It suddenly became crystal clear. As I drove the yellow one home I wondered if it would really work as well as suggested on the box. I yanked open the box and could not wait to use it. Surely it's not that great. HELLO!!!!! Are you kidding me? It was unbelievable. As I vacuumed my few rooms with carpet I noticed the carpet looked lighter. It was simple to switch from hardwoods with a click of a button. No bags to change and the suction really was remarkable. When everyone came home from school and work they instantly noticed. My husband even asked it I had the carpets cleaned. I still thank my daughter occasionally for being so adamant about which vacuum to purchase. Sometimes our children really do know what we need. Sometimes they are smarter than us. Sometimes they know the lastest and greatest. Many times we parents choose not to listen. What a mistake. She's been telling my lipstick color is wrong for my skin tone. I wonder. Maybe we need to make a trip to the lipstick aisle. Who knows, she just may be right.
