I just purchased Johnny's new CD, A Hundred Highways. You must go get it!!!! The purest form of soul singing one will ever hear. The beautiful imperfections of a soulful voice gone old through the seasons of life. I was immediately drawn into the stories of his solos. One must realize the highways Johnny has been down, to feel the full depth of this CD. Music has become such a production anymore. The endless new sounds, lyrics traveling at such a rate of speed, one can't feel the music. I personally look for pure, clear, simple music. I find it a comfort in the simplicity of listening. I realized this collection of music resulted after his true love's death and not to soon before his as well. More of the real reason to buy it. It is a result of his long journey down life's highway. This music resonates with love, pain, truth, soul, clarity and is as soothing as a cool summer rain.
