So we got a big tree.

We found the perfect tree. It is waiting to be decorated. I did not want to wait any longer, with the tree shortage this year because of the drought. The tallest ones always go first, so I make it a point to go as soon as the trees arrive. My son did the twirl around thing with each tree. My daughter and I gave the final approval. I love the smell of the trees. I am so thankful none of us are allergic to a fresh tree. I bought a beautiful wreath for the front door and some pine garland for the staircase. It's really not a big deal. It doesn't take very long. There isn't Christmas music playing, so there really isn't the festive atmosphere some people are looking for, but when my family arrives to pick a tree, none of that stuff really matters. It is our tradition. It started in our little modest, blue farmhouse 21 years ago. We already have so many wonderful memories of just this one little moment during the holiday season. Take alittle time to pull away from the hectic pace of the holiday, go get a tree. Even if you cannot do the real tree, find someway to create a memory for your family. Start a tradition. Make putting up a tree as special as what is under the tree on Christmas morning. Afterall, everyone knows the difference between real and fake.
